5 things we learned as Red Devils crash out of Champions League




 

 

 

Poor defending from Louis van Gaal's side cost them as they failed to win for the fourth time in the Group B - with PSV's win over CSKA ensuring their elimination

The Red Devils needed to match PSV Eindhoven's result to qualify for the last 16 but the Dutch side's win over CSKA Moscow saw them snatch second place in Group B.
The night started well for Louis van Gaal's side with Anthony Martial scoring the opening goal after 10 minutes.
Naldo scored just three minutes later though before Vieirinha put the Bundesliga side in front on the half-hour mark.
An own-goal by Josuha Guilavogui gave United hope with 82 minutes on the clock but those hopes were once again dashed in the blink of an eye when Naldo netted his second goal to send his side through as group winners.
